Job Description:
- As an Electronic Lab Technician IV, you will support the setup, instrumentation, troubleshooting, and testing of power systems products in a high-power lab environment.
- This role plays a key part in product validation, certification, and development while promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a Zero Safety Incident Culture by following company safety requirements, including Life Saving Rules, and supporting 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Install, configure, and maintain lab equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems used to evaluate power systems products.
- Execute product testing in accordance with internal procedures and applicable industry standards.
- Collect, organize, and document test data; support preparation of reports and test documentation.
- Fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, and repair electronic assemblies, prototypes, test fixtures, and related hardware.
- Support lab upkeep, equipment maintenance, calibration coordination, and overall test area organization.
- Develop and implement test methods to evaluate the performance, reliability, and functionality of electrical and electronic systems.
- Troubleshoot complex electronic circuits, power electronics, and test systems to identify root cause and implement corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
- Support continuous improvement in lab methods, tools, and processes.
- Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or related technical field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or technical environment focused on electrical or electronic testing.
- Ability to work in a high-power lab environment involving equipment up to 600 Vac and 1000 Vdc.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted as needed throughout the workday.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, circuits, and components, including power electronics and low-voltage power systems.
- Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power meters, digital multimeters, data loggers, and related instrumentation.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and electronic systems.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced certification or specialized training in electronics, testing, or power systems.
- Experience with single-phase and three-phase low-voltage systems.
- Experience with DC systems and battery systems.
- Experience with AC source and load bank setup.
- Experience with wiring of test instrumentation.
- High-energy safety awareness and understanding of electrical hazard controls.
- Experience supporting engineering validation, certification, and compliance testing.
- Experience with electronic component parametric evaluation.
- Experience with electromechanical prototype fabrication.
- Experience with PCBA rework, modification, and soldering.
- Experience with environmental, EMC, or other advanced electronic test methods.
- Familiarity with schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation tools.
- Working knowledge of applicable industry standards and regulations.
