Job Description:
- Client is seeking an experienced Azure Landing Zone Arch/PSE to join our cloud infrastructure team.
- This role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure landing zones for enterprise clients.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including cloud architects, security operations, and network engineers to deliver comprehensive cloud infrastructure solutions aligned with industry best practices and client business objectives.
- Landing Zone Alignment: Conduct stakeholder interviews and technical workshops to establish baseline goals, review current cloud artifacts, and document design requirements across cloud architecture, security, and networking teams
- Landing Zone Design: Develop detailed design specifications for resource organization, network topology, governance frameworks, security controls, platform automation, and operating models using Azure best practices
- Resource Organization: Design and recommend Management Group hierarchies and subscription structures aligned with organizational goals and cloud governance standards
- Network Architecture: Plan and design virtual WAN topologies, IP addressing schemes, Express Route connectivity, network segmentation, DNS configurations, and hybrid networking solutions
- Security & Governance: Define approaches for privileged access management, encryption, key lifecycle management, role-based access controls, tagging strategies, and compliance frameworks
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Establish and implement IaC frameworks using Terraform and selected CI/CD technologies for repeatable, automated landing zone deployment
- Implementation: Deploy and configure shared resource hubs, Next Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto), virtual networks, network security groups, DNS zones, and monitoring solutions
- Business Continuity: Design redundancy, backup, and disaster recovery strategies including Azure Site Recovery, multi-region deployments, and availability zone considerations
- Monitoring & Observability: Implement comprehensive monitoring solutions combining Azure platform telemetry with native logging and security runbooks
- Collaboration: Participate in design reviews, architecture approval meetings, and knowledge transfer sessions with client technical teams
- Cost Optimization: Establish cost reporting baselines and financial operations frameworks for cloud resource utilization and spending visibility
- 7 years of experience in cloud infrastructure design and implementation
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services and solutions
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing Azure landing zones and enterprise-scale cloud architectures
- Strong knowledge of Azure networking components (Virtual WAN, Express Route, DNS, Network Security Groups, firewalls)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Deep understanding of Azure governance, security, and compliance frameworks
- Experience with Next Generation Firewalls (Palo Alto preferred)
- Knowledge of hybrid networking and multi-cloud connectivity patterns
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Azure certifications (AZ-305, AZ-104, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Experience with multi-cloud architectures and cloud migration strategies
- Knowledge of Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery implementations
- Familiarity with Azure Policy and Azure Blueprints
- Experience with cost management and Azure Cost Management tools
- Background in enterprise security and compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA)
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
- Knowledge of identity and access management (Azure AD/Entra ID)
