Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Active Directory Administrator/Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Active Directory environments across our organization. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex directory services that support thousands of users and devices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, and manage Active Directory infrastructure including domains, forests, and trust relationships Administer user and computer accounts, group policies, organizational units, and security groups Implement and maintain Active Directory security best practices and compliance standards Manage identity and access management (IAM) solutions and directory synchronization tools Monitor Active Directory performance, health, and replication across multiple sites Troubleshoot and resolve complex Active Directory issues and escalations Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration Document configurations, procedures, and maintain technical runbooks Plan and execute Active Directory upgrades and migrations Implement disaster recovery and business continuity procedures for directory services Provide technical support and training to IT staff and end users Stay current with industry trends, security patches, and emerging technologies
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience administering Active Directory in enterprise environments Strong knowledge of Active Directory architecture, replication, and group policy management Experience with Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022 or newer) Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, and network protocols Experience with directory synchronization tools (Azure AD Connect, Okta, or similar) Understanding of security principles, least privilege access, and compliance requirements Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Strong communication and documentation abilities CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator certification (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or similar advanced certification Experience with hybrid cloud identity solutions (Azure AD/Entra ID) Knowledge of LDAP, Kerberos, and SAML protocols Experience with privileged access management (PAM) solutions Familiarity with IT service management tools and ticketing systems Experience in healthcare, finance, or other regulated industries
Physical Requirements
The employee must be able to perform the following physical activities:
Sit for extended periods while working at a computer workstation Use keyboard and mouse for data entry and system administration tasks Lift and carry IT equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis Stand and walk for extended periods during infrastructure installations and maintenance Bend, stoop, and reach to access server racks, cabling, and network equipment Perform repetitive motions with hands and wrists Travel to multiple office locations or data centers as needed for maintenance and support Work extended hours during system maintenance windows, upgrades, or emergency situations Communicate clearly via phone, video conference, and in-person meetings
