- When will I hear back about my referral?
- We don't commit to a specific timeline. Some referrals move quickly; others take longer to align with client needs. We reach out when the referral reaches the 90-day billing milestone.
- What if the placement or contract doesn't reach 90 days?
- No reward is paid. This aligns the reward with actual retention and prevents rewards for placements that fall through inside the guarantee window. It's the same logic we use with clients — if the placement doesn't stick in 90 days, we treat it as if it didn't happen.
- How is the reward amount determined?
- At the milestone. Based on the outcome, the role or engagement, and the depth of your relationship with the person you introduced. We don't publish amounts because every referral is meaningfully different.
- Do you actually pay out?
- Yes, without exception, once the 90-day billing milestone is met. We protect the reputation of the program more than we protect any individual payout.
- What if you already have this person or company in your system?
- A duplicate check runs at submission time. If they're already engaged with us, the referral is void — not a rejection of your good faith, but a rule to avoid disputes over who introduced first.
- Can I refer someone anonymously?
- No — we need to know who to pay, and we treat referrals as personal introductions rather than anonymous tips.
- Are rewards taxable?
- Rewards over $600 per calendar year are 1099-reportable income. We collect a W-9 from you before payout.
- Can ApTask employees participate?
- Yes, with two exceptions: recruiters and their direct reports are not eligible (conflict of interest), and family relationships must be disclosed at submission.
- What if two people refer the same candidate or company?
- The earliest timestamped submission is the referrer of record. In practice this rarely comes up — but the rule prevents disputes.
- Can existing clients refer other clients?
- Yes, and it's welcome. When an existing client refers a new client, the reward can be structured as an invoice credit rather than a cash payment — often preferred by procurement teams. Let us know your preference in the 'anything else we should know' field, or during the milestone conversation.
