About the Role
our client s Production Control team is expanding to support increased work-order volume for New Glenn rate production. This role focuses on backlog reduction, work-order cleanup, production scheduling, material expediting, and maintaining accurate ERP/MRP data.
The Production Control Specialist will work closely with Production Control teams and manufacturing work centers to keep work moving, resolve stalled orders, and prevent schedule delays.
Key Responsibilities

Drive down the work-order backlog by reviewing idle/no-need-date orders, resolving stalled orders, and closing completed work orders.
Execute targeted expediting efforts on priority jobs by identifying material, kit requirements, and production blockers.
Support work-center coverage and routine escalations as needed.
Maintain accurate and reliable MRP/ERP data.
Monitor and communicate daily backlog progress, expedite activities, and shift handoffs.
Identify recurring constraints and blockers and escalate them to area leads and Production Control leadership.
Partner with the Production Control team and take ownership of assigned work centers when required.
Support other work centers once assigned backlog activities are under control.

Required Qualifications

Experience with production control, schedule management, expediting, or backlog/data cleanup in a manufacturing or production environment.
Hands-on experience using ERP/MRP systems, such as SAP, Costpoint, or similar systems.
Ability to work directly with system data and work orders rather than relying only on dashboards.
Ability to independently manage a defined backlog in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Willingness and availability to support off-nominal shifts (B/C/D) when coverage is required.
Strong communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with backlog remediation, data cleanup, or production expediting.
Experience with MS Office and MS Project.
Familiarity with Jira/ITS and AI tools.
Experience in both development and production manufacturing environments.
Aerospace or automotive production experience is a plus.
